Baramulla, Aug 09 (KNO): Minister for Agricultural Production, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Elections, Javed Dar on Saturday said the government is working to bridge the developmental gap left over the past 10 years. According to Dar, several public works projects stalled in the last decade in absence of the proper government. Dar, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), termed the push as just the beginning. “This is the people’s government and we are working for the betterment of our people. For ten years, developmental works that were the right of people did not happen. Now, the process has begun across Jammu and Kashmir, and every legislator is actively working for their constituency,” he said. Minister Dar said that all legitimate public demands will be addressed. “There is a lot more to do and more is coming,” he added while announcing that the road network across the Union Territory would see a complete overhaul in the next two years. The Minister also stressed Rafiabad’s potential as a tourism hub, pointing out that the 22 April attack in Pahalgam had dealt a severe blow to the sector. “The incident impacted even the emerging off-beat destinations, many of which were forced to shut down before they could take off,” he said. He said the government was working to reopen all such sites and integrate those with high tourism potential into the official tourism map, adding that fresh activities and infrastructure upgrades would be introduced to attract visitors—(KNO)
